Mrs. Fitzsimmons' 3s Class News
April 15th - April 19th 2024
Thank you to all the special guests who joined us for Munchkins with Munchkins. It was fun to have you visit and I hope you left with a better sense of what we do during our time here at school. As you have probably heard by now, the baby chicks have hatched! 🐣🐥 We were lucky in our Wednesday visit to witness a chick make its way completely out of the shell. Exhausted from its hard work, it pushed itself out and flopped down for a much-needed rest. At this point we have 8 chicks that have hatched!
All kites have been traced and cut and now the decorating begins. For this part we are using chalk, water, and Wikki sticks. 🪁 Soon these colorful kites will be on display in the classroom. This week we will continue our discussions about Spring with a focus on Earth Day (Earth Day is Monday, April 22) 🌎 and the small things that we already do and can do every day to take care of our precious planet. The week will be filled with fun facts about our Earth. We will talk about reduce, reuse, and recycle and how we can make these practices a part of our days at school and home. ♻️
As always, we will make sure Weather Bear is dressed for outside play as we identify the day, month, and season. We will focus on uppercase letters P and Q this week and review numbers by way of the calendar. It Looked Like Spilt Milk, Just a Gum Wrapper, Earth Day Every Day, and The Little Life of a Cardboard Box are some of the books that we will read and have on display for independent reading time.
